The eye of Hurricane Hector is currently forecasted to pass to the south of Big Island later this week. According to the Pacific Hurricane Center, the storm is heading towards some drier air, which could help to gradually weaken the storm. There is a sub-tropical ridge that is forecast to strengthen which will help push Hector south of Hawaii.  The current forecast has Hector remaining a Hurricane as it passes to the South of the Hawaiian Islands.

Please pray for the Hurricane to dissipate before making landfall or to miss the Hawaiian Islands. Also, please pray that the sub-tropical ridge will strengthen and push Hector south of Hawaii. Please pray for people to remain calm and prepare the storm. Please pray for homes and property to be protected from damaging winds and rains.

While the official forecast track continues to lie to the south of
the Hawaiian islands, only a slight deviation to the north of the
forecast track would significantly increase potential impacts to
the state of Hawaii. Now is a good time for everyone in the
Hawaiian Islands to ensure that they have their hurricane plan in
