At 800 AM PDT, the center of Tropical Storm Ignacio was located near lat 12.2N & 135.1W. Ignacio is moving toward the west near 9. This westward motion is expected to continue today with an increase in forward speed. A turn toward the west-northwest is forecast on Thursday. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 60 mph with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected during the next 48 hours, and Ignacio is forecast to become a hurricane on Thursday. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 60 miles from the center.
