Please pray for the protection of all in the Hawaiian Islands as Hurricane Guillermo is on track to make landfall on Hawaii (Big Island) Wednesday. Please pray for the people on the islands to prepare for the storm as it approaches. Pray the storm to weaken as it approaches and for it to miss the islands completely.
AT 500 AM HST, THE CENTER OF HURRICANE GUILLERMO WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 14.5 N & LONGITUDE 143.5 W. GUILLERMO IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 13 MPH. GUILLERMO IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT WITH SOME SLIGHT DECREASE IN FORWARD MOTION EXPECTED STARTING LATER TODAY OR TONIGHT.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 105 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME SLOW WEAKENING IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS BUT GUILLERMO IS FORECAST TO REMAIN A HURRICANE THROUGH MONDAY. HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 30 MILES FROM THE CENTER AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 115 MILES.
SURF LARGE SWELLS TRAVELING AHEAD OF HURRICANE GUILLERMO WILL SPREAD FROM EAST TO WEST OVER THE MAIN HAWAIIAN ISLANDS THROUGH MONDAY. SURF WILL STEADILY BUILD ALONG EAST FACING SHORES AND WILL LIKELY BECOME LARGE AND POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING STARTING ON MONDAY.
