Several weeks ago Greg shared about a wonderful non-profit located here called basketballMaui. They are having a basketball clinic this coming Saturday in Upcountry Maui and would love for your keiki to attend.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Who: Kids ages 7-18

What: Basketball Clinic

When: Saturday, March 1, 2014

Time(s): Kids ages 7-12 (8:30am-10:15am) and Kids ages 13-18 (10:00am-11:45am)

Location: Montessori School of Maui, 2933 Baldwin Avenue – Makawao, HI 96768

Cost: Free. Please bring canned food items to donate.

Basketball Clinician: David Nurse “David is considered to be one of the top shooting coaches in the United States and Globally. As the Perfect Shots Shooting CEO, David leads one of the top basketball shooting programs nationally and internationally.  He has worked with high school and youth teams in over 25 states, and has also worked in 6 different countries. David also holds world record for most 3 point field goals made in 1 minute.  No matter where David is in the world or who he is working with, he always remembers the young boy in Iowa shooting hoops for countless hours in the driveway.  If David can achieve all of this from where he came from, there is no reason anyone else out there can’t do the same.”

There’s a similar setup for both groups.  They have the 15-minute overlap which will allow time to speak to both age groups together and take a group picture.

The camp is set up in segments.  Every segment builds onto the next.  With each segment there is a teaching point, demonstration, and a shooting game to go with it. Everything is done in teams (team building and competitive).

If you’re in the Upcountry Maui area and would like to bring your keiki to this fun, free event, we’d love to see you there!

Also, if you would like to have your Maui school host an assembly through basketballMaui, it’s a wonderful opportunity to teach children self-respect, having a good attitude and responsibility in a fun, interactive way. You may contact Buzz Dahlen, Executive Director of basketballMaui for more information on hosting an assembly at your child’s school.

Aloha,
Jennifer
