Our prayer today is for protection from natural disasters such as hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, and volcanoes. Living on an archipelago created (and still being created) by a hot-spot in the middle of the Pacific Ocean comes with many dangers. The greatest of these threats are tsunamis and hurricanes followed by the occasional earthquake and while the last major eruption on the Big Island occurred in 1984, threat is still present for a major eruption there or a very slight possibility of one from Haleakala which is on the island of Maui.
Father God, we ask you to protect the islands of Hawaii from natural disasters such as hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, and violent volcanic eruptions. We know that there is Yours and everything in it. We ask you for wisdom if the threat of a tsunami comes, especially for those who live in inundation zones on the islands. We pray for healthy respect of the potential violence of this force as it can come suddenly and unexpectedly. We also ask for peace over the land and its inhabitants if a threat is announced or if we experience a natural disaster.
In Jesus Name, AMEN!
Thought of you and your family as I wrote today’s mini-post!
Thanks for your heart for the Islanders.
Aloha
